Applications are invited for the temporary post of Project Associate at the IITM FedEx SMART Center, IIT Madras. This recruitment is under the coordination of Prof. Arshinder Kaur, Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras. The position is initially for a duration of 6 months, which is extendable based on performance.
Job Summary
IIT Madras is looking for two qualified and motivated Project Associates to join the IITM FedEx SMART Center. Selected candidates will work on research, data analysis, modeling, and optimization within supply chain, logistics, and warehousing projects. Research Area & Technical Skills
Candidates should possess knowledge or experience in three or more of the following areas:
- Supply Chain Management and Logistics

- Data Analytics and Problem Solving
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
- Digital Twin / Simulation
- Python or other data analytics tools

Eligibility & Qualification
Minimum Qualifications
- 4-year UG degree OR Any Non-Engineering PG degree
- OR Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Data Science, Management, or a closely related discipline.
Experience
- Relevant experience is preferred.
- Fresh Master’s graduates may also be considered based on their skills and academic/project experience.
Desirable Criteria
- Prior project, research, internship, or industry experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing, AI, Data Analytics, or related areas.
- Basic knowledge of Python, optimization, simulation, or data analytics tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
Job Description (Key Responsibilities)
- Conduct research and analysis related to supply chain and logistics projects.
- Support data collection, analysis, modeling, and optimization activities.
- Develop analytical models and research-based solutions.
- Conduct literature reviews and document research findings.
- Prepare technical reports and project deliverables.
- Work closely with faculty, researchers, and industry stakeholders.
- Support project implementation, experimentation, and validation.
Pay Scale
₹40,000 – ₹60,000 per month, based on qualifications and experience.
