Applications are invited for the position of Project Associate-I to work on a DST-sponsored project titled “SPAARQ: Software Platforms and Algorithms to accelerate Research in Quantum – HPC” under Dr. Nisanth N Nair at the Department of Chemistry, IIT Kanpur. This appointment is purely temporary and on a contractual basis.

Salary	Rs. 31,000 + 20% HRA (as per institute norms)
Duration	1 year (extendable based on satisfactory performance)

Eligibility & Qualification

Essential Qualification

Masters in Chemistry / Physics / Material Science / Chemical Engineering OR B.Tech in Material Science / Chemical Engineering

Desirable Experience

Knowledge in modeling condensed matter systems using DFT and/or Molecular Dynamics.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with developing machine-learned interatomic potentials (MLIPs).
Strong programming skills and an interest in molecular modeling.
