CSIR – Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI) has announced a walk-in interview for the recruitment of a Project Assistant – II to work on a temporary project at the Marine Algal Research Station in Mandapam, Tamil Nadu. Talented and motivated candidates are invited to apply.

  • Monthly Emolument: Rs. 20,000/- per month + admissible HRA
  • Age Limit: Maximum 35 years (Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR norms)

Eligibility & Qualification

  • Essential Qualification: B.Sc. in Botany, Marine Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Oceanography, Microbiology, or Marine Science.
  • Desirable Qualification: Experience in seaweed culture and cultivation.

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for the production of elite material of Kappaphycus alvarezii and its cultivation in the open sea.

Duration

These positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement will not confer any right or claim, implicit or explicit, for absorption or extension in CSIR-CSMCRI. The total tenure of a project staff member across different projects in CSIR laboratories shall not exceed 6 years.
