Panjab University Recruitment 2026: Walk-in Interview for Research Staff and Intern Posts
Panjab University, Chandigarh, has announced a walk-in interview for the recruitment of short-term research staff positions, including Research Associate, Research Assistant / Junior Research Fellow, and Interns. These temporary positions are for research projects funded by the Climate Compatible Growth Project (CCG), Center for Global Equality, Cambridge, U.K., under the Department of Public Administration and University Business School.
Designation and Vacancies
- Research Associate (Post-Doc Level): 1 Position (Project II – up to 100 days)
- Research Assistant / Junior Research Fellow: 2 Positions (1 for Project I – up to 80 days; 1 for Project II – up to 120 days)
- Interns: 5 Positions (2 for Project I – up to a total of 24 days; 3 for Project II – total 45 days)
Research Area
The positions are under two specific research projects:
- Project I: Transport Decarbonisation, Distributional Incidence and Policy Durability: Evidence and Policy Learning from Chandigarh’s EV Registration Quota
PI: Prof. Suveera Gill, University Business School (suveera@pu.ac.in) - Project II: Taking forward EV Transition Studies: OSeMOSYS for Sustainable Energy Planning at the City level; Political Economy of Public Policy for Sustainable Development

Eligibility / Qualification
- Research Associate: PhD in Science/Social Science with Environment Specialisation. Knowledge of OSeMOSYS & CLEWS is required.
- Research Assistant / Junior Research Fellow: Masters in Public Administration / Management / Commerce. Positions under Project II require knowledge of OSeMOSYS & CLEWS.
- Intern: Masters (completed or ongoing) in Public Administration / Management / Commerce.
Job Description and Remuneration
The posts are purely on a temporary basis for short-term research work. The number of days and actual employment dates are at the discretion of the Principal Investigator (PI). Payments will be made on a per-day basis as follows:
- Research Associate: Rs. 1,500 per day
- Research Fellow / Assistant: Rs. 1,200 per day
- Intern: Rs. 500 per day

- Eligible candidates should appear in person for the Walk-In-Interview at the specified venue along with the duly filled application form (in the prescribed format).
- Submit the completed application form at the reporting venue by 1:00 PM on the day of the interview.
- Candidates must bring experience certificates, publications, original degree certificates, and transcripts along with self-attested copies for verification.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
