Project Assistant

Panjab University, Chandigarh, under the Liver-Safe Chandigarh Initiative (Chandigarh Administration) for FY 2025-26, has invited eligible candidates to appear for a Walk-In-Interview for temporary Project Assistant positions. The positions are purely on a temporary basis and co-terminus with the project duration.

Job Summary

The recruitment is being conducted for the project titled “Primordial Prevention of Steatotic Liver Disease in college students (18-26 years) of Chandigarh” under the Liver-Safe Chandigarh Initiative. Eligible candidates with a background in Life Sciences or Public Health are encouraged to attend the walk-in-interview.

Eligibility/Qualification

Essential Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Biomedical Sciences / Allied Health Sciences or a relevant discipline.
OR
Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH), Epidemiology, Community Medicine, Nutrition, Social Sciences or a relevant discipline.

Desirable Qualifications:

Relevant experience in community projects or science research.
Good communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
Experience in clinical data collection, patient coordination, data analysis, and research documentation.
Knowledge and experience in Data Analytics.

Job Description

The selected candidates will be responsible for the following tasks:

Coordinate screening and risk assessment of college students for risk factors associated with steatotic liver disease.
Collect and maintain clinical and lifestyle data, including anthropometric, demographic, dietary, physical activity, and relevant health information.
Assist in data pre-processing, quality checks, coding, and database management for project-related datasets.
Coordinate with clinicians, college health centres, students, field teams, investigators, and other project stakeholders for effective implementation.
Support student and community outreach activities, including awareness programs on healthy diet, physical activity, obesity prevention, and other modifiable risk factors.
Assist in data analysis, interpretation, and preparation of project reports, presentations, dashboards, and research documentation.
Support preparation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), screening protocols, data-collection tools, and project workflows.
Organize and coordinate training programs, stakeholder meetings, workshops, and review meetings.
Perform other project tasks as assigned.

Duration of Appointment

06 months, or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.

Emoluments

Rs. 15,000 per month (consolidated, all-inclusive).
