Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at the School of Biochemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. The position is under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) sponsored research project.
Job Summary
The selected candidate will work on a cutting-edge research project focused on cancer theranostics. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, which is sanctioned up to March 2028.

Eligibility & Qualification
Essential Qualifications
- M. Tech. in Nanoscience & Nanotechnology / Biotechnology / Biochemical Engineering / Materials Science OR
- M.Sc. in Chemistry / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Zoology OR
- M. Pharma
- Candidates must have a minimum of first division (60% marks or equivalent grade) and a valid qualified score in GATE / NET / GPAT.
Desirable Qualifications
Candidates with basic knowledge of small molecule synthesis, conjugation chemistry, nano(bio)materials, bioimaging, and cell culture will be preferred.
Age Limit
- Maximum 30 years (relaxable for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates as per Government of India rules).
- All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GoI rules.
Job Description & Fellowship Details
- Fellowship Amount: Rs. 37,000 per month (Fixed Stipend/Fellowship)
- Project Duration: 17 Months (Sanctioned up to 03/2028)
- Nature of Post: Purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. No TA/DA will be paid if called for an interview.
