Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar is inviting applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Project Assistant to work on an ANRF-PAIR sponsored research project.

Summary

This temporary research position is under the project titled “Dynamic research ecosystem for advanced materials (DREAMS)” in the Department of Chemistry at IIT Ropar. The role focuses on sustainable energy conversion/storage systems and offers selected candidates the possibility of being considered for Ph.D. admission as per Institute rules.

Research Area

Chemistry / Materials Science with a focus on sustainable energy conversion and storage systems (electrocatalysis/batteries).

Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, Rupnagar, Punjab – 140001, India.

Eligibility / Qualification

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s or equivalent degree in Chemistry or Materials Science with First Class (minimum 6.5 CGPA out of 10 or 60% marks; 55% marks for SC/ST candidates).
  • For JRF Position: Must have qualified NET or GATE.
  • For Project Assistant Position: Candidates without NET/GATE qualifications may be considered.

  • Project Title: Dynamic research ecosystem for advanced materials (DREAMS)
  • Funding Agency / File No.: ANRF-PAIR (F. No. ANRF/PAIR/2025/000006/PAIR-A)
  • Supervision: Dr. Tharamani C.N. (Co-PI)
  • Duration: 3.0 years or until project completion, whichever is earlier (purely temporary position subject to periodic review).
  • Emoluments: As per ANRF rules.
  • Ph.D. Prospect: Selected candidate may be considered for Ph.D. admissions at a later stage as per Institute rules.
