Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has announced an advertisement for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Lab Support Engineer positions. Applications are invited from eligible candidates to work in the research group of Dr. Vandana Sharma in the Department of Physics, IIT Hyderabad.

Eligibility & Qualification
For Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
- Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics/Optics/Photonics or a related specialization.
- Requirement: Valid GATE score or UGC/CSIR NET-JRF.
- Age Limit: Maximum 28 years on 30th October 2026.
For Lab Support Engineer
- Qualification: B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering OR B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Age Limit: Maximum 25 years on 30th October 2026.
Desirable Skills and Experience
For JRF Candidates (Optics/Photonics):
- Hands-on experience in optical alignment and laboratory optics.
- Familiarity with optical simulation software.
- Experience in data acquisition, image processing, and image analysis.
- Experimental experience with cameras, lasers, optical components, or imaging systems is advantageous.
For Lab Support Engineer Candidates (CSE / Mechanical):
- Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning.
- Experience with Python programming, image processing, data analysis, and data visualization.
- Familiarity with databases and scientific data handling will be an advantage.
- Experience in mechanical design and engineering drawing.
- Familiarity with CAD tools and stress/structural simulations.
- Experience in prototype development, fabrication, or instrumentation will be an advantage.
General Computational/Analytical Skills (Desirable):
Experience with one or more of the following: Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, data acquisition, data analysis, data visualization, image processing, and scientific computing.
