Assistant Project Engineer (01 Vacancy): ₹28,500 + 20% HRA + Medical Facility

Lab Assistant (01 Vacancy): ₹25,000 + 20% HRA + Medical Facility

Eligibility & Qualification

1. Project Manager

Essential Qualification:

B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of relevant industrial or research-based project management experience; OR
M.Tech/M.Sc. in the above disciplines with a minimum of 5 years of experience in R&D, industrial projects, or technology development; OR
PhD in a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including management of research-driven technology projects.

Skills & Experience: Minimum 2 years in project management, technical reporting, vendor coordination, budget monitoring, and knowledge of pyrolysis/thermochemical conversion. Proficiency in MS Office and Aspen Plus/MATLAB/Modelica, AutoCAD, or equivalent software.

2. Project Engineer

Essential Qualification:

PhD in Engineering/Technology; OR
Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; OR
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.

Skills & Experience: Strong knowledge of AI/ML, data analytics, and predictive modelling. Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn), feature engineering, statistical analysis, and basic machine learning model development.

3. Associate Project Engineer

Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology OR Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Production, Energy, Environmental, or related disciplines.

Skills & Experience: Experience in material characterisation, analytical evaluation, pyrolysis, and tools like MATLAB, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and MS Office.

4. Assistant Project Engineer

Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

Skills & Experience: Basic understanding of chemical engineering principles, process operations, sampling, equipment inspection, data analysis tools, MATLAB, and MS Office.

5. Plant Operator

Essential Qualification: ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Instrumentation, Production Engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience preferred.

Skills & Experience: Experience in reactor, furnace, boiler, thermal-processing, or pilot-plant operation. Ability to operate continuous and batch pyrolysis reactors in rotational shifts.

6. Lab Assistant

Essential Qualification: 10th/12th, ITI, or Diploma in a relevant discipline. Laboratory or industrial experience with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Skills & Experience: Knowledge of good laboratory practices, safety procedures, material handling, waste segregation, and cleaning/maintenance of pilot-plant equipment.

7. Lab Attendant

Essential Qualification: 10th/12th, ITI, or Diploma in a relevant discipline. Laboratory or industrial experience is preferred.

Skills & Experience: Basic understanding of laboratory cleanliness, safety procedures, sample arrangement, and material handling.

Job Description

Selected candidates will work on the research project “Design and Development of a Demonstration Plant for Production of Marketable Grade Green Activated Carbon from Bamboo Dust” at IIT Guwahati for an initial contractual period of 11 months. Candidates will engage in project execution, pilot plant development, reactor operations, AI/ML-driven decision support system (DSS) development, experimental analysis, and laboratory support depending on the specific post.
