Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune has released Advertisement No. 82/2026 inviting applications from eligible Indian nationals for the post of Project Associate-II purely on a temporary and contractual basis. The positions are under the Department of Science & Technology (DST) funded project titled “Quantum Computing” under National Quantum Mission (NQM) to Foundation for QC Innovation (Thematic Hub) (Project Code: 30124736).

Job Summary

IISER Pune is seeking dynamic and qualified individuals to manage advanced instrumentation and cryogenic systems for research under the National Quantum Mission. The engagement is initially for one year and extendable based on performance and project continuity.

Designation

Project Associate-II (Total Posts: 02)

Research Area

Quantum Computing, Material Characterization, Micro/Nano-fabrication, and Cryogenic Systems.

Location

IISER Pune, Maharashtra, India.

Eligibility & Qualification

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized University / Institution.
    • OR
    • Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics or an equivalent qualification from a recognized University / Institution.
  • Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in R&D in the operation and maintenance of instruments.
  • Preference: Candidates with relevant experience in R&D laboratories will be preferred.
  • Age Limit: Not more than 35 years as on the last date of application (25.10.2026).

Job Description

  • Post No. 1: The incumbent will be responsible for operating and handling FESEM, micro/nano-patterning instrumentation, and Electron Beam Lithography (EBL) systems for advanced material characterization and fabrication.
  • Post No. 2: The incumbent will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of the Liquid Helium Plant and various cryogenic systems.

Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 28,000/- per month + 30% House Rent Allowance (HRA).
