The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal, serving as a Regional Center for the Vigyan Pratibha Project of HBCSE-TIFR Mumbai, invites applications for one (01) position of Project Scientific Assistant-B (PSA-B) purely on a temporary basis to work full-time on the project.

Summary

IISER Bhopal is inviting qualified candidates for a temporary post of Project Scientific Assistant-B under the Vigyan Pratibha Project. The role involves developing challenging science and mathematics educational units, conducting school visits across Madhya Pradesh and neighboring states, and assisting in teacher training workshops.

Eligibility / Qualification

Essential Qualification:

  • Full-time M.Sc. / M.S. degree in Science (preferably in Chemistry or Mathematics) from a recognized University / Institute with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in teaching, research, scientific writing, or development of educational activities.
  • Basic knowledge of common word processing and data analysis software such as MS-Office, LibreOffice, etc.
  • Good proficiency in the English language and writing skills in English and/or any other regional language.
  • Ability to engage with the learning needs of Indian students and work with rigorous scientific and mathematical content.

Age Limit:

Maximum age should not exceed 28 years on the date of the interview.

Salary & Tenure:

  • Salary: Rs. 37,000/- + HRA (as applicable) per month (Consolidated pay with no other allowances).
  • Tenure of Appointment: Initially for six months from the date of joining, which may be extended based on satisfactory performance.

Job Description

  • Contribute toward the development of challenging learning units for science and mathematics and field testing them in different schools.
  • Participate in teacher professional development and work with in-service teachers on a regular basis.
  • Interact with teachers and students in diverse schools (urban, rural, and tribal) across Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring states through online mode and school visits.
  • Contribute to writing project reports.
  • Assist in organizing teachers’ training workshops at IISER Bhopal.
  • Perform any other work assigned by the Project In-charge / supervisor.
