Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal has announced an opening for the position of Project Associate II in the Department of Biological Sciences. This position is part of an ANRF-funded research project focusing on viral infection regulatory networks. Indian nationals meeting the eligibility criteria are invited to apply.

Eligibility/Qualification

Essential Qualifications:

  • A four-year Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Technology, or Medicine, OR a Master’s degree in Natural Sciences / Life Sciences from a recognized University or Institution.
  • At least two years of research and development (R&D) experience in Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations.

Desirable Experience:

  • Knowledge of the functioning of a pathogenic virus research laboratory.
  • Proficiency in techniques such as mammalian cell culture, gene expression analysis, primary cell isolation and culture, immunological assays, and proteomic analysis.

Age Limit:

Maximum 30 years for general candidates at the time of application. A relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC, ST, and physically disabled (PWD) candidates.

Job Description & Salary

The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Ajit Chande in the Department of Biological Sciences.

  • Duration: One year (subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds).
  • Salary:
    • Rs. 35,000.00/- per month + 18% HRA for candidates who have qualified National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship), GATE, or a selection process through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies/Institutes.
    • Rs. 28,000.00/- per month + 18% HRA for candidates who do not qualify for the above-mentioned national exams.
