Research Area & Domain
Development, testing, material characterization, and trial activities related to anti-vibration mounts for Naval ships, including Composite, Magnetorheological (MR), and Shear Thickening Fluid (STF) based mounts.

Eligibility & Qualification Criteria
- Retired Grade/Pay Level: Officials retired from Central/State Govt, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, Universities, or Govt R&D Organizations in Level-11 (as per 7th CPC) or equivalent pay scale.
- Educational Qualification:
- M.Sc in Chemistry / Materials Science with experience in development and testing of anti-vibration materials.
- NPTEL Course in Composite Manufacturing with experience in composite fabrication, Magnetorheological (MR) mounts, and shear thickening fluid (STF) based mounts.
- Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Experience in mechanical characterization of materials/mounts using Universal Testing Machine (UTM).
- Hands-on experience with material characterization equipment such as DSC, TGA, DMA, and FTIR.
- Expertise in testing mounts on vibration shakers and pressure testing.
- Experience in rubber/composite formulation and procurement procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Desirable Experience: Preference will be given to candidates possessing experience of having worked with DRDO.
- Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 63 years as on the closing date of application.
- Mandatory Gap: A minimum gap of 15 days is required between retirement and appointment as Consultant.
Job Description & Key Responsibilities
- QAP tests as per trial requirements, preparation of installation manuals, and documentation.
- Assistance in finalization of Transfer of Technology (ToT) documents for NAVEM, RAVM, CAVM, MR Mount, and NAM series.
- Generation of documents as per technology categorization guidelines for various mount series.
- Assistance in communication with directorates for the formation of Technical Assessment Committees (TACs) and Capability Evaluation Committees (CECs).
- Assistance in industry selection per DRDO ToT Policy 2025 and providing hand-holding support to industries for technology absorption.
- Generation of test results, ATP documents, and finalization of LA ToT.
Remuneration & Contract Duration
- Contract Duration: Initially for 1 year, extendable as per norms (estimated work period up to 2 years).
- Pensioners: Fixed monthly amount calculated by deducting basic pension from last pay drawn + Rs. 3,000/- monthly conveyance allowance.
- Non-Pensioners (PSU Retired): Consolidated remuneration of Rs. 50,000/- per month + Rs. 3,000/- monthly conveyance allowance.
- NPS Retirees: Remuneration fixed after deducting 30% of last basic pay + Rs. 3,000/- monthly conveyance allowance.
