CSIR – Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI), Bhavnagar, has invited applications for the position of Project Associate – I (PAT-I). The selected candidates will work on the CSIR-sponsored MMP project entitled “Region Specific Smart Agrotech (MMP025303)”. Selection will be conducted through an online interview for shortlisted candidates.

Summary

CSIR-CSMCRI is hiring 3 Project Associates for a temporary position funded by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi. Candidates with a background in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Botany, or Chemical Engineering are eligible to apply by submitting their application via email.

Research Area

Region Specific Smart Agrotech (Project Code: MMP025303). The research area focuses on organic synthesis, soil sample analysis, data analysis, and machine learning application in smart agrotech.

Location

CSIR – Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI), Gijubhai Badheka Marg, Bhavnagar – 364002, Gujarat, India.

Eligibility / Qualification

Essential Qualification:

  • M.Sc. Degree in Chemistry / Biotechnology / Agriculture / Botany from a recognized university.
  • OR
  • B.E. or B.Tech in Chemical Engineering / Biotechnology / Industrial Biotechnology from a recognized university.

Desirable Experience:

  • Research experience in organic synthesis or soil analysis.
  • Experience in machine learning.

Age Limit:

  • Maximum 35 years (as on 20/10/2026).
  • Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Women candidates as per Government of India/CSIR rules.

Job Description

The selected candidate will work on the project entitled “Region Specific Smart Agrotech” for a period of one year. The primary job requirements include competency in organic synthesis, soil sample analysis, and data analysis.

Monthly Emoluments:

  • Rs. 31,000/- + HRA (as applicable) for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET (including lectureship/assistant professorship) OR GATE OR national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Agencies/Institutions (e.g., DST, DBT).
  • Rs. 25,000/- + HRA (as applicable) for candidates who do not fall under the above criteria.

Duration: The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project (for 1 year). The total engagement across different CSIR projects shall not exceed 6 years in total.
