Overview & Position Details
- Designation: Project Technical Support III (2 Positions)
- Research Area: Life Science / Molecular Biology / Infectious Disease Biology (Malaria and Host Factors)
- Location: Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala (with field travel to Northeast partnering institutions)
- Emolument: ₹ 28,000 + HRA per month
- Duration: Initially for one year or until project termination, extendable based on performance evaluation.
Eligibility & Qualification Criteria
Essential Qualifications
Three years graduate degree in a relevant subject field with three years of experience OR Post Graduation (PG) in the field of Life Science / Molecular Biology / Infectious Disease Biology.
Desirable Qualifications
- Basic understanding of cell culture.
- Experience and interest in microscopy, protein biochemistry, or structural biology.
- Experience working in a BSL-2 laboratory.
- Prior experience in infectious disease research or haematology.
- Availability to travel to partnering institutions in the Northeast for field sample collection and research.
Age Limit
Below 30 years as of November 1st, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided as per Government of India norms.
Job Description
The position is co-terminus with the end of the project under the ICMR Intramural CCR on Malaria and Host Factors. The primary responsibilities include undertaking research in infectious disease biology, performing cell culture, microscopy, and protein biochemistry work, and traveling to field sites in the Northeast for sample collection.
Selection Process
Applicants will be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria. Final selection will be based on qualifications and performance in an online interview. Selection to the position does not entitle candidates to any future permanent positions at RGCB.
