BRIC-Institute of Life Sciences (BRIC ILS) Walk-in Interview 2026 for Project Scientist, SRF & Technician Positions

BRIC-Institute of Life Sciences (BRIC ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, has announced a walk-in interview for various project-based positions. Eligible Indian nationals are invited to apply for these temporary roles under the project titled “Exploring the marine ecosystems for novel bioresources with human health and industrial significance.”

Eligibility/Qualification

1. Project Scientist – I (01 Post)

• Age Limit: Maximum 35 years
• Remuneration: Rs. 56,000/- per month + 18% HRA
• Essential Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Science or Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent.
• Desirable Qualifications: PhD in any field of life sciences with experience in bioinformatics and analysis of NGS datasets. Candidates with relevant experience and publications in peer-reviewed journals are preferred.

2. Senior Research Fellow / Senior Project Associate (01 Post)

• Age Limit: Maximum 35 years
• Remuneration: Rs. 42,000/- per month + 18% HRA
• Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. / M. Tech / M. Pharm. / M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Virology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Microbiology, etc.) with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxation as per GoI guidelines) and 2 years of research experience. Preference will be given to NET/GATE/GPAT qualified candidates.
• Desirable Qualifications: More than two years of research experience in mammalian cell culture, drug screening, bioprospecting, metabolite extraction, and mass-spectrometry.

3. Technician (01 Post)

• Age Limit: Maximum 30 years
• Remuneration: Rs. 20,000/- per month + 18% HRA
• Essential Qualifications: B.Sc. / 3 years diploma in Science, Engineering, and Technology.
• Desirable Qualifications: Experience with Linux operating system and data analysis.

Job Description & Tenure

The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The project duration is up to 31.03.2027, or until the completion of the project as per Government of India orders, subject to annual performance appraisal. Selected candidates will work on exploring marine ecosystems for bioresources with industrial and healthcare applications.
