IIT Kanpur Project Associate-I Recruitment – Department of Chemistry

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur invites applications for the position of Project Associate-I to work on an ANRF-sponsored research project in the Department of Chemistry. This is a purely temporary and contractual appointment for a duration of one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
Job Summary
The selected candidate will work on the project titled “Efficient Exploration of Free Energy Surfaces: New Methods and Algorithms” under the supervision of Dr. Nisanth N. Nair. The role is ideal for candidates interested in molecular modeling of biomolecular systems and who possess strong programming skills.

Eligibility / Qualification
Essential Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Biochemistry OR B.Tech in Biotechnology or Chemical Engineering.
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge in modeling biomolecular systems.
- Knowledge of molecular dynamics simulations.
- Proficiency in Python or other programming languages.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- Performing biomolecular modeling utilizing molecular mechanics force fields.
- Conducting free-energy calculations.
- Employing and developing enhanced sampling techniques.
Salary & Benefits
- Rs. 37,000 + 20% HRA per month (as per institute norms) for CSIR-UGC NET or GATE qualified candidates.
- Rs. 30,000 + 20% HRA per month (as per institute norms) for other candidates.
