Applications are invited from eligible candidates for a temporary post of Research Assistant under the research project titled “Climate, Health and Air Monitoring Project” in the Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The position is purely on a contract basis and co-terminus with the project, initially for one year or until the tenure of the project, whichever is earlier.

  • Designation: Research Assistant
  • Number of Posts: 01 (One)
  • Research Area: Climate, Health, Air Monitoring, Environment Science, Atmospheric Sciences, Public Health, and Air Pollution
  • Location: Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India
  • Salary / Emoluments: Rs. 35,000/- per month (fixed)
  • Tenure: Initially for 1 year or till the tenure of the project (whichever is earlier)

Eligibility & Qualification

Essential Qualification:

  • ME / M.Tech / M.Sc in Environment Engineering / Environment Science / Atmospheric Sciences / Electronic Communication & Engineering / allied discipline from a recognized institution or University.

Desirable Qualification:

  • Minimum 01 year of research experience in the field of environment, climate change, air pollution, or public health.
  • Candidates who are NET qualified will be given preference.

Job Description

The selected candidate will be expected to undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate self-motivation and multi-skilling with a strong research record.
  • Converse, deliver presentations, write academic papers and reports, and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary colleagues and researchers.
  • Assist in organizing workshops, meetings, outreach activities, and managing the overall project operations.
  • Handle and analyze large datasets related to the research domain.
