Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) has released an advertisement for the recruitment of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Project Assistant position under an ANRF-PAIR sponsored research project titled “Dynamic research ecosystem for advanced materials (DREAMS)”.

Summary

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for one temporary position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Project Assistant at IIT Ropar’s Department of Chemistry. The project focuses on sustainable energy conversion and storage systems (electrocatalysis/batteries). Selected candidates may also be considered for Ph.D. admissions at a later stage according to Institute rules.

Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, Rupnagar, Punjab – 140001, India.

Eligibility / Qualification

  • Academic Qualification: First Class (6.5 grade point out of 10) or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) in Master’s or equivalent degree in Chemistry or Materials Science.
  • For JRF Position: Candidates must have qualified NET or GATE.
  • For Project Assistant Position: Candidates without NET/GATE qualifications may be considered for the Project Assistant position.

Job Description

  • Position Type: Purely temporary. Performance will be reviewed periodically.
  • Duration: 3.0 years or till the completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
  • Emoluments: As per ANRF rules.
  • Supervision: Dr. Tharamani C.N., Co-PI, Department of Chemistry, IIT Ropar.
  • Ph.D. Opportunity: The selected candidate may be considered for Ph.D. admissions at a later stage as per Institute rules.
