IISER Thiruvananthapuram Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Recruitment 2026
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) has announced an opening for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on an externally funded project. The project is titled “Software Models of trained Deep Neural Networks architectures for Real-time Edge Applications on Space Platforms” and is funded by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

Eligibility/Qualification
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- M. Tech./ME/MS/BS-MS degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Computer Science and Engineering with a minimum CPI of 6.5 and a valid qualified GATE/NET Score (obtained within the last five years).
- OR B.Tech./BE degree in Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering with a minimum CPI of 6.5 and a valid qualified GATE/NET Score.
- Note: GATE/NET score requirements are exempted for candidates holding a B.Tech degree with a minimum CPI of 8.0 from IITs, IISc, or IISERs.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Prior working or research experience in the fields of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Image Segmentation is highly preferred.
Job Description & Project Details
The selected candidate will work on developing software models of trained Deep Neural Networks (DNN) architectures optimized for real-time edge applications on space platforms.

| Fellowship Amount | Rs. 37,000 + HRA per month |
| Tenure | Initially for 1 year, extendable up to 1 additional year or until the completion of the project, whichever is earlier (subject to candidate performance). |
| Age Limit | Upper age limit is 35 years. Age relaxations for SC/ST/OBC/PD candidates will be provided as per Government of India (GOI) rules. |
