BITS Pilani Goa Recruitment: Project Research Scientist – I
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the position of Project Research Scientist – I in the Department of Biological Sciences at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, Goa. This recruitment is for an ICMR-sponsored research project titled “Evaluation of Antibiofilm Protein Nanoparticle Conjugate on Clinical Mixed Biofilms and Validation in Mouse models” (Project No. IG-10/2026-0159).
Position Overview
- Designation: Project Research Scientist – I
- Research Area: Protein nanoconjugates and Infectious Diseases
- Location: BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, Goa
- Duration: 3 Years
- Fellowship Amount: Rs. 56,000 per month + 10% HRA
- Last Date to Apply: November 2, 2026
Eligibility / Qualification
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Post Graduate Degree in Biotechnology / Biological Sciences / Biochemistry OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course.
- Desirable: Qualified through National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship/Assistant Professorship or GATE) OR selection through national level examinations conducted by Central Government departments/agencies (such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.).
- Preferred Skills: Experience in biofilm handling and/or nanoparticle synthesis will be preferred.
Job Description
The candidate will work under Principal Investigator Prof. Sumit Biswas and Co-Investigator Prof. Sachin Talekar on the ICMR-funded research project. Key points include:

- PhD Opportunity: The selected candidate will get an opportunity to apply for the Ph.D. program at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, subject to the institute’s Ph.D. rules and regulations.
