Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Project Associate II (Biology) at the Center for Creative Learning. This project focuses on hands-on and inquiry-based STEM education for school students.

Eligibility and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Option 1: M.Sc. in Life Science / Bio Science / Biological Science with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Option 2: B.Sc. with Life Science / Bio Science / Biological Science subject with a minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Academic Standard: Minimum of 60% or equivalent grade from graduation onwards, and 55% or equivalent grade in 10th and 12th standards.

Desirable Qualifications & Background:

A self-driven and creative Life Science/Biology/Bioscience educator with a strong desire to work in school STEM education through hands-on and inquiry-based learning.

  • Experience in teaching Life Science/Biology/Bioscience to students of grades 8–12 (e.g., TGT, PGT, CBSE, IB, IGCSE, ICSE, and state boards).
  • Good communication and facilitation skills; professional fluency in spoken and written English and spoken Hindi; good digital documentation skills.
  • Experience in designing and conducting physical experiments, hands-on activities, and the use of lab instruments.
  • At least 1 year of experience in writing textbook chapters or making learning modules for grades 8–12 in ed-tech.

Job Description

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating high-quality, rigorous, hands-on Life Science/Biology/Bioscience modules for grades 6–12 Biology and updating/organizing the resource repository.
  • Adapting, making, testing, and optimizing activities, models, and prototypes.
  • Documenting manuals, chapters, worksheets, presentations, videos, and articles.
  • Converting relevant activities into models ready to use in schools with product specifications.
  • Coordinating and conducting the testing of content in schools.
