IISER Thiruvananthapuram Senior Research Fellow Recruitment – Photonics Quantum Processor Development
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) has invited applications for the position of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) on a contract basis. The fellowship is for an externally funded project titled “Photonics quantum processor development”, sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology under the National Quantum Mission.

Tenure: 6 months (Extendable based on performance and progress)
Fellowship Amount: ₹42,000/- + HRA as per Institute norms
Research Area
Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, Engineering Physics, with a research focus on photonics, optical microresonators, and quantum processor development.
Location
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.
Eligibility / Qualification
Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with first-class in Physics / Applied Physics / Optics / Engineering Physics or a related subject.
- Must have qualified a National Level eligibility exam such as CSIR/UGC NET Category I/II/III (including lectureships and Assistant professorships), GATE, JEST, JAM, or obtained a Master’s qualifying degree from an Institute of National Importance.
- Minimum of 2 years of research experience post the Master’s degree in a field relevant to the project.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in experimental realization of microresonator Kerr combs and modelling of thermal and nonlinear processes affecting Kerr comb generation.
Age Limit:
Maximum 32 years (Age relaxation applicable as per Government of India rules).
Job Description
The selected candidate will serve as a Senior Research Fellow for the project titled “Photonics quantum processor development” supported by the National Quantum Mission, DST. The role involves carrying out advanced research in optics and photonics relevant to quantum processor development.
