Job Summary

The Microwave Tube Research & Development Centre (MTRDC), a unit of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, has announced a walk-in interview for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF). Indian nationals who wish to pursue research in the field of vacuum electronic devices are invited to attend.

Research Area

Design & development of Microwave Tubes, Microwave Power Module for Radar, Electronic Warfare & Communication System, encompassing the multidisciplinary fields of material science, ultrahigh vacuum, physical electronics, microwave engineering, electromagnetic, particle-in-cell, and computer-aided design/simulation.

Eligibility / Qualification

  • Option 1: Graduate Degree in Professional course (B.E/B.Tech) in Electronics/EI/ECE/ET/EEE Engineering in first division with a valid NET/GATE score.
  • Option 2: Post graduate degree (M.Sc.) in Electronics with First Division with NET qualification.
  • Option 3: Post Graduate Degree in Professional course (M.E./M.Tech) in Electronics or Power Electronics or Electrical Engineering in first Division both at graduate and Post Graduate level.
  • Age Limit: Not exceeding 28 years. Age relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST/PH and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Job Description

The selected candidate will be appointed as a Junior Research Fellow for a duration of 2 years (which may be extended further for a maximum of 2 years based on organizational requirements). The position carries a stipend of Rs. 37,000/- per month plus House Rent Allowance as per rules.

Eligible and qualified Indian nationals can walk in for the interview at the specified venue, date, and time. Candidates must report at the venue at 10:00 hrs on the interview date carrying:

  • A complete Bio-Data with a recent passport-size photograph affixed on the top right corner of the first page.
  • Original certificates for verification and one set of photocopies of all degree/academic qualification certificates, mark lists, experience certificates, etc.
  • Original caste/medical certificates (if claiming age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH).
  • An NOC from the present employer for candidates working in Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies.
