Indian Institute of Engineering Science & Technology (IIEST), Shibpur has announced a walk-in interview for the recruitment of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position on a contract basis. The selected candidate will work on a project sponsored by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.

Research Area

Project Title: “Evaluation of Compositional Variations in Locally Available Common Homoeopathic Medicines” [Project ID: CCRH-2/037/2025-26]

Location

Dr. Bholanath Chakraborty Memorial Fundamental Research Laboratory of Homoeopathy, Centre for Healthcare Science and Technology, Indian Institute of Engineering Science & Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, Howrah – 711 103, West Bengal.

Eligibility/Qualification

Essential Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Medicine / Chemistry / Biochemistry / Physics / Biotechnology / Biomedical Engineering / Natural Sciences / Physiology / Food Technology OR any allied fields in Life Sciences from a recognized University OR Equivalent with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.).

Desirable Qualification

  • GATE/NET qualification.
  • Experience of working in the related field.
  • Experience in handling FTIR, Raman, DLS, and other spectroscopic data.
  • Exposure to various Molecular Biology techniques.

Job Description

The Junior Research Fellow will carry out research activities under the designated project at the Dr. Bholanath Chakraborty Memorial Fundamental Research Laboratory of Homoeopathy (Dr BCMFRLH). The position details are as follows:

  • Fellowship:
    • 1st & 2nd Year: Rs. 37,000/- p.m. + Rs 11,100/- (30% HRA) = Rs 48,100/- per month
    • 3rd Year: Rs. 42,000/- p.m. + Rs 12,600/- (30% HRA) = Rs 54,600/- per month
  • Age Limit: Maximum 28 years. The upper age limit is relaxable by up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Woman/PWD/EWS candidates as per Govt. of India and ANRF rules.
  • Duration: Initially for 06 months. It may be extended after evaluation on an annual basis up to 36 months OR till the completion of the project, whichever happens earlier.
