Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi is inviting applications for two (2) Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions under a UPNEDA-sponsored project. The project is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project duration.

  • Project Title: Centre of Excellence (COE): Center for sustainable hydrogen technologies and fuel cell development
  • Funding Agency: Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA)
  • Duration: 3 years

  • Co-PI: Dr. Asha Gupta (Department of Chemistry)

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – 2 Positions

Research Area

Sustainable hydrogen technologies, fuel cell development, electrode preparation, battery materials, and hydrogen generation & storage.

Location

Department of Ceramic Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi – 221 005, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Eligibility & Qualification

Essential Qualifications:

  • First class or equivalent CGPA in M.Sc./M.Tech in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, Ceramic Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • GATE/CSIR-UGC NET qualification.
  • Work experience in electrode preparation and materials development for fuel cells, batteries, and materials/equipment handling in hydrogen generation & storage in any industry or national laboratory.

Age Limit:

  • Maximum 28 years (relaxable for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates as per Government of India rules). All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred.

Job Description / Fellowship

The selected candidates will work on materials development and testing for sustainable hydrogen technologies and fuel cells. The fellowship details are as follows:

  • With GATE/CSIR-UGC NET: Rs. 37,000 + 20% HRA per month
  • Without GATE/CSIR-UGC NET: Rs. 25,000 + 20% HRA per month

No TA/DA will be paid if called for an interview.
