The Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR), a premier institute of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), has announced a walk-in interview for the position of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). This opportunity is open to young and meritorious Indian nationals who wish to pursue advanced research in mathematics and cryptography at CAIR, Bengaluru.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Essential Qualification: MSc in Mathematics with first division from an AICTE accredited Institute / University, and must be NET / GATE qualified.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of lattice-based Cryptography and proficiency in C and Python programming languages.
  • Age Limit: Maximum of 28 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications. Age relaxation is allowed up to 5 years for SC/ST/PH and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Job Description & Fellowship Details

  • Duration of Fellowship: 02 Years (may be extended further and upgraded to Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) as per rules).
  • Stipend: Rs. 37,000 + HRA per month (as per rules of the funding agencies).
  • PhD Registration: The selected candidate may be allowed to register for a PhD with any recognized University/Institution during the tenure of the fellowship.
  • Note: The offer of fellowship does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO under any circumstances.

Eligible candidates must follow a two-step application process involving an email submission followed by a walk-in interview:

Step 1: Email Application

Candidates are advised to send their duly filled application form (as per the format provided in the official advertisement) via email prior to the walk-in interview.

  • Format: The bio-data must be typed in BLOCK letters only as per the prescribed format.

Step 2: Walk-in Interview

Candidates must appear for the walk-in interview with all required documents.

  • Date of Walk-in Interview: 24th November 2026
  • Reporting Time: 08:00 – 09:30 Hrs (Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate).
  • Venue: CAIR Main Gate Reception, C.V. Raman Nagar, Bengaluru – 560093.
  • Selection Process: A Written Test will be conducted starting at 10:00 Hrs on 24th November 2026. Qualified candidates will be interviewed on the same day.
  • Documents to Bring:
    • A printed copy of the filled bio-data form with a recent self-attested color passport-size photo affixed.
    • One set of self-attested photocopies of all degrees, academic qualification certificates, and mark sheets.
    • All original certificates/testimonials and community certificates (if applicable).
    • Two recent passport-size color photographs.
    • A government-issued photo identity proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID, etc.) in original along with a photocopy.
    • Candidates currently employed in Government departments/PSUs/Autonomous bodies must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of the interview.
