Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi, invites applications from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF). This is a temporary, contractual position for a time-bound research project funded by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under the AICTE Research Promotion Scheme (RPS): Lab to Market 2025.

Research Area / Project Title

Development of a nondestructive Instrument using Eddy Current Sensors to Determine Pore Morphology of Mesh Electrode

Location

Department of Electrical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University), Jamia Nagar, New Delhi – 110025, India.

Eligibility / Qualification

Essential Qualifications:

  • M.Tech. (Electrical / Electronics / Control and Instrumentation / Electronic Systems Design / Embedded System) from a recognized university or equivalent with a first-class degree.
  • OR B.Tech. (Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation) with a first-class degree and two years of working experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Candidate with a valid GATE score.
  • Practical experience in the field of microcontroller-based systems / device fabrication.
  • Experience with FEA-based simulation software like ANSYS, Solidworks/CAD software, or Multiphysics software like COMSOL Multiphysics.
  • Good technical writing skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Publication of a research article in an SCI journal.

Age Limit:

Maximum 28 years (Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India guidelines).

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Modelling, simulation, and experimental validation of eddy current-based sensors for defect detection in metal sheets/films and associated circuits and systems.
  • Development of the Lab to Market Instrument.
  • Preparation of technical documentation, including reports, operating manuals, manuscripts, and related project materials.

Emoluments & Benefits

  • Salary: Rs. 33,500.00 per month (fixed) for the first two years. Candidates may be considered for upgradation to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) after two years with a ~10% salary increment, subject to excellent research progress and performance evaluation.
  • Other Benefits: Possibility of PhD registration at Jamia Millia Islamia as per university rules.
  • Duration: Three years or till the closure of the project, whichever is earlier (subject to annual performance evaluation).
