Eligibility / Qualification
Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience requirements:
Option 1:
M.Sc./M.Tech in:
- Chemistry
- Analytical Chemistry
- Organic Chemistry
- Natural Products Chemistry
- Biotechnology
- Biochemistry
- Food Technology
- Food Science & Nutrition
- Microbiology
with a minimum of 6 months of relevant experience in food testing, food analysis, laboratory operations, or quality control.
OR
Option 2:
B.Sc./B.Tech/B.E. in:
- Food Technology
- Biotechnology
- Biochemistry
- Microbiology
with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in food testing, food analysis, laboratory operations, or quality control.
Desirable Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Management Systems, testing laboratories, PT/ILC programmes, or related areas.
Desirable Training:
Training in Internal Auditing as per ISO/IEC 17043:2023 for Proficiency Testing Providers.
Age Limit:
Maximum 35 years, with a 5-year relaxation for women, SC/ST/OBC and differently abled candidates as per Government of India rules.
Desirable Knowledge & Skills
Candidates with the following knowledge and skills will be preferred:
- Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17043:2023 and requirements for proficiency testing providers.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, particularly for PT activities involving laboratory testing.
- Understanding of document and record control, internal audits, nonconformities, corrective actions, risk management and continual improvement.
- Basic knowledge of PT programme planning, PT item handling, homogeneity/stability assessment, participant communication, result evaluation and PT reporting.
- Understanding of statistical concepts including assigned value, standard deviation, z-score and performance evaluation.
- Training or competence in internal auditing of management systems, preferably ISO/IEC 17043/17025.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, data management and preparation of quality records/reports.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare, review and maintain SOPs, formats, quality records, audit documents, CAPA records and PT documentation.
Job Description
The selected JRF will work as a Quality Assurance Executive for the project focused on establishing CFRA, NIFTEM-K as a proficiency testing provider for fortified foods. The role is expected to involve activities related to quality assurance, laboratory operations, proficiency testing, quality documentation and compliance with relevant ISO standards.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Supporting implementation and maintenance of quality management systems.
- Assisting in proficiency testing and inter-laboratory comparison activities.
- Maintaining SOPs, quality records, audit documents and CAPA documentation.
- Supporting internal audits and compliance activities.
- Assisting with PT programme planning and documentation.
- Supporting PT item handling and assessment of homogeneity and stability.
- Managing participant communication and PT-related records.
- Assisting in statistical evaluation of laboratory results, including z-score and performance assessment.
- Preparing and reviewing quality reports and other project documentation.
- Supporting continual improvement and risk-management activities.
